FLORIDA
RELIEF HURRICANE FUND |
 |
| |
Following the devastation caused by Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan
and Jeanne, thousands of Floridians are in need.
Governor Jeb Bush has established the Florida Hurricane Relief
Fund to assist communities in rebuilding. This fund will be used
for needs unmet by other disaster relief organizations also working
to help rebuild lives and communities. Communities will decide how
their allocations from this fund should be spent and the most heavily
impacted communities will receive the greatest percentage of these
funds.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund is to raise money to
help Floridians with relief and recovery through strengthening
families and rebuilding communities.
GOALS
Fill gaps in funding for services that stabilize and strengthen
families.
Link neighbors to neighbors in support of relief and recovery.
Rebuild communities.

HEART OF
FLORIDA UNITED
WAY |
 |
| |
Heart of Florida United Way has launched a long-term
hurricane recovery fund that will help health and human services
agencies in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties to recover from
the devastating affects of hurricanes Charley, Frances and Jeanne.
The fund, which marks the organizations first-ever specialized
community impact fund, will provide agencies with a much-needed source
of revenue that can be used to address long term needs. This fund
will give local agencies the resources they badly need to recover
from the hurricanes. These agencies have been there for the
community in the wake of the hurricane. Now the community can
return the favor to the agencies by supporting this fund. Donors
can contribute to the Hurricane Recovery Fund by donating a portion of,
or all, of The Heart of Florida United way gift to code No. 8499.
The Heart of Florida United Way also has many other options for donations
and volunteering. You can direct your monies and/or your time to where
ever you feel it is most needed or to whatever you have a preference.
